From the Best of Q, Félix Award-winning Montreal singer/songwriter Béatrice Martin - otherwise known as Coeur de Pirate -- returns to Q to perform live from Trauma, her first album of English-language songs.
The record serves as soundtrack to the Radio-Canada television program of the same name, and is a collection of covers of songs by artists like The Rolling Stones, Amy Winehouse, Bon Iver, The Libertines and more.
Beatrice Martin sheds light on the overarching theme of her new cover album, how she managed to make hose songs her own and singing other people's lyrics as if they were her own.
"For the first time I was singing songs that I had nothing to do with and I just had to find the emotion of the songs at first," Martin explains.
"I kind of went with the first feeling I had the first time I listened to the song and I tried to channel that."
The original segment aired March 13, 2014
