"PRIVATE DANCER"

This afternoon I finally finished reading Private Dancer.

Jon and (Clifford's book) who have read the novel were anxious for me to read the final pages, which I did at pool side at the L.K. Suite poolside this afternoon. Was I surprised at the ending..... yea I guess you could say I was. But it was inevitable!  I won't tell you what the ending is, but if your interested pick up a copy for your own interest.

I became totally involved in the lives of both Pete and Joy - the two main characters which takes place in Bangkok, Thailand. This book states that it's part fiction and part  nonfiction.

I'm on a winter holiday and staying in Pattaya at the present time and have listened to the stories that have been shared with me by "farangs".  I have a slight different view of how the system works, having come here with a negative view of the "girls" and "guys".  Unfortunately, as much as I hate to say it the men who do come here and "fall in love" are totally disillusioned if they feel that they will change the lifestyle of the girls.  Sadly, the girls always seem to win in the end. I honestly have a hard time coming to terms of "the men" who continuely return with great expectations for a  obviously "younger" woman  because they are not likely to find one much younger than themselves in their homeland to find love and settle down to a happy lifestyle.

I'm not saying that there can't be a happy ending to marrying a Thai girl but the chances are relatively low - I don't know what the percentage would be - but my personal opinion still stays low.

My next book that I've started to read is "Gone Girl".
